Netflix For Neckties

You can rent neckties now.  I don't think it would be a good value for me since I tend to have shirt/tie/suit combinations that mate for life and always feel funny the first several times I wear a new tie as my brain slowly convinces itself that this was a good idea after all.  On the other hand, it is through taking risks that we learn what works and what doesn't.  More to the point, it's probably cheaper to get designer ties on clearance, especially since you can easily get several years out of the life of a necktie.

h/t Rachael for the link.

  1. Sounded good up to the point they promise to clean the ties.  I have had zero luck in that department.

    1. Huh. I don't think my dry cleaners has ever failed to get a stain out. Maybe I've just gotten lucky--certain types of stains are much harder to extract than others.

Another problem is that dry cleaners tend to press ties after they clean them, and they often press too hard and mess up the edge folds, leading to oddly shaped front blades.

  2. It is that second problem, pressing.  I was happy when Tide to Go came along.
